Remembrance Day at Kiaro: Lest We Forget

Remembrance Day at Kiaro: Lest We Forget

Owen ReaderNov 10, '20

Remembrance Day ceremonies across Canada will look a little different this year, but that doesn’t take away from the importance and relevance of this meaningful holiday. Kiaro is proud to honour those Canadians who have served and sacrificed for our country.

This Remembrance Day will mark 102 years since the signing of the armistice that ended the First World War. The agreement took effect November 11, 1918 at 11 am—the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. Each year, Canadians pause at 11 am on November 11 to commemorate and honour those who have served and continue to serve Canada during times of war and conflict.

Kiaro recognizes the enormous contributions and sacrifices uniformed men and women have made in an effort to keep Canada and Canadians safe. While only a small token of gratitude, Kiaro would like to extend a warm thanks to all of Canada’s military service, veterans and their families with a 10 percent discount when shopping in person at a Kiaro location. When visiting Kiaro, simply show your military ID to receive the discount

This is just a small offering of gratitude, to honour the biggest sacrifices that a Canadian can make.

“This year, more than ever, we are reminded that peace and freedom are precious.  While it is easy to take them for granted, it is important to reflect on the freedoms that were sacrificed, often beyond our comprehension over a century ago, yesterday, and today, for our liberty. We join the communities we are a part of, our neighbors and all Canadians in honoring the members of the military, veterans and their families. #KiaroRemembers”
